God Repays Kindness

S-ignificance: God Repays Kindness

M-essage: Exo. 1:15 -21 is about God’s kindness to Shiphrah and Puah—midwives whom Pharaoh instructed to murder every male child that would be born of every Israelite woman. Though their lives were in danger should they disobeyed the command of the king; yet they feared God more, so they didn’t do as commanded. They were blessed by God in return; their homes were blessed, and He  gave them many children and made their families great.

A-pplication: Sometimes, when we are under pressure, we tend to give in, that we even sacrifice our moral values or even turn our backs to God just to save our faces or maybe, just to fit in some groups. In all of these situations, God sees us. If we deny the faith, He is grieved, but if we stand firm and be faithful to Him, we make Him glad. He repays every good thing that we do. We will soon learn that everything we sacrificed for Him is so small compared to the rewards that we will receive because of the good things that we do for Him. It’s true that God will give us His rewards when we go to Heaven, but it is also true that He gives us His rewards in this present life—just like what He did to Shiphrah and Puah.

R-esponse: Lord, help me to be strong in my convictions. Let my moral values stand strong under pressure. Let me not be moved by anyone or anything when I am standing for what is right and what glorifies Your holy name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
